These are not factory coasters. Each one was woven by hand by a Mangyan artisan in the mountains of Mindoro Island, Philippines — using nito vine, a forest material that grows only in their region and has been harvested and woven by their community for over a thousand years.

At just a quarter-inch thick and four inches across, they sit flat and firm under any glass or mug. But what you're really placing on your table is craft that predates modernization, woven by hands that learned from hands that learned from hands.

The natural color variation between coasters is not inconsistency — it is evidence. Each piece of nito vine takes dye and light differently, so no two coasters in your set will look exactly the same. That is what handmade actually means.
